Hi there, my name is Izumi Tanaka from Yokohama, Japan.
I came to Australia for the first time to study English in 2009 and I became absolutely fascinated with Australia's people and beautiful nature.
In 2011 I met an engraving by sand blasting school in Japan and was immediately captivated to make personalised items. I moved back to Brisbane again with the latest Japanese sand blast machine and I set up Komachi studio in 2012.
Sand blast is the operation of engraving with industrial abrasive (Alumina) against a surface under high pressure to remove surface contaminants.
All my engraved items are produced one by one using sand blast machine.
